What a fun week of writing I have had! In my opinion, it is all because of momentum.

When the week began last Sunday, I promised myself that I would write, at a minimum, three “keeper” pages a day. Whether those pages were from Murder in a Small Town: The Tragic Death of Stacey Burns, or my next novel, or the memoir, There’s A War On had no bearing on the end result. Here’s what I found:

Three pages usually became four of five because the freshness of what I was writing and where I was going provided a forward momentum. For the novel, which comprises most of this week’s writing, the characters almost were crying out for me not to stop their lives. They had momentum. They were anxious to see what happens next.

As I said, what a fun week! I can’t wait for next week!
