As of today, July 9, 2015, I’ve heard from four people regarding my post about publishing what I’ve written on Murder in a Small Town: The Tragic Death of Stacey Burns. This publication would include all blog posts I’ve written on this subject since January, 2013.
While currently on a three week trip, I would be able only to begin to put this together for the first stage of publication. The general flavor of comments has been similar, all along the line of “if you wait for the killer to be arrested, your work on this project may never get published.” That seems a valid point. As it stands right now, I am leaning toward publishing what I have along with the blog posts. Maybe when that happens, it will stir things up a bit. Until then, I’ve noticed that a friend of Stacey’s apparently has started a petition in an attempt to get some movement in the case. We can only hope that is successful.
If anyone else has an opinion about publishing a book which is not finished, please let me hear from you.
~ P L E A S E Publish the book as an ~ UNSOLVED MYSTERY ~ the public will eat it up… they LOVE unsolved mysteries!!! Do not publish the blog(s) in the book but rather a LINk to them… a treat for your readers. ~The B O O K~ will bring the exposure NEEDED to bring Stacey’s CHILDREN the JUSTICE that THEY SO VERY MUCH DESERVE!!!!!
Four out of how many? Did anyone say don’t do it? I’m on the fence about this. Agree with comment above, don’t publish the blogs verbatim in the book if you go ahead with it. Also agree that people will be very interested in the unsolved mystery. What will this do to the novelized version you’re working on? Because that’s very good, and I don’t think you can do both. I know you’ll follow your heart and make the right decision.
Do the book without the Blogs. We’ve read all the Blogs. Just list a link to them for new readers. Thanks for your hard work on keeping this SOMEWHAT alive!
