A correspondent posted a response to my last entry. It can be seen on my website under “A Plethora of Suspects” and I wrote this response which I’d like to receive wider distribution. So, here is my response.
First of all, anyone who knows me knows that selling books about this crime is NOT a motive for keeping it going. As stated on numerous occasions and venues, any profits would go to the Burns children. I would say that it is highly unlikely “Murder in a Small Town” will ever be published.
Second, is everyone willing to wait for those “who are afraid to talk” or for the “psychopath killer” to take responsibility? If that is the case, I apologize for “muddying the waters.”
What are the odds that the murder weapon will be found after seven years and seven months?
So, I’d love to hear from others about my muddying the waters. What do the rest of you think?
Duke
Muddying the water? That would be like gray water contaminating a septic system. Just another spin attempting to keep the truth concealed.
I vote no on Duke “muddying the water”. The rumor mill muddies the water. As I said before, I’m so sick of hearing that people don’t come forward because their afraid. Of what? If anyone has any information and hasn’t spoken up after all this time due to fear then they are a coward. Shame. And finding the murder weapon would seemingly be a small miracle at this point but one can only hope. You do you Duke. You haven’t let people forget about Stacey.
Go Duke! Muddy water only mean someone was there before you and disturbed the placidity of the mud. Here, a young woman is leading her life just going along. Someone outside of her, somewhere in her life, perhaps, decides her life is not to continue. They plot. They feel secure. They don’t count on you. In fact, they don’t even think about you ever entering the picture. That’s their fault. They throw rocks…he’s mudding the waters and should go away. Push harder Duke. Don’t let go. There is a risk because you are annoying the killer. Stay the course. Mary
I had an experience last week that changed everything for me. I’ll never talk or wright about “the murder” again. I’m sure the police are doing everything they can. I’m sorry for accusing Ed, and I’m sorry for hurting the kids in doing so. Duke, can you open up this blog for ‘memories of Stacey’ we must get past the injustice and the anger that comes with this injustice.
If you are concerned for yourself or your children because Jim Cutting did a “180” move, there are quite a few suspects.
