The photos were taken at my program yesterday at the Joyner Library in Green Valley. It was a good crowd. 
For a long time, as I’ve observed human nature at its worst, I’ve become fond of saying that “I’m not surprised, only disappointed” or “nothing surprises me anymore, but a lot of things disappoint me.”
Yesterday, I presented a writing program at the Pima Country Library in Green Valley and the last part of it dealt with my works in progress, including the book about the murder of Stacey Burns. A brief description of that book led many of those attending to express their surprise that the case has not been solved after six and a half years. My answer was, as you might have guessed, a variation on the above theme. I was surprised at the end of the first year; that surprise turned to disappointment, a disappointment that has become increasingly bitter as years go by.
The disappointment at this point is so deep that it is difficult to express in words.
Am I alone in this feeling?
Hi Mr. Southard – I too am disappointed that there has been no solution to this crime. It’s a small town, why is it so hard to solve? I didn’t know Stacey, but I grew-up in Wolfeboro, and I know what a close knit community it is. It’s very sad for the children that this has not been solved. I will continue to pray for an arrest and conviction for this horrible crime.

I’m glad you had a decent turnout for your presentation. You use, “I am not surprised, only disappointed.” I too have a saying that I have used for many years. “What will be, will be.”
So much for old sayings. Perhaps the time has come to let Stacey
fade away into the bygone mist of the “used to be”. Your book will retain the known facts for all eternity.

It is disappointing that a woman is “slaughtered” (aag. Strelzin’s word, not mine) and nothing is done about it. Disappointing but not surprising. New Hampshire is democrat controlled.
