One of my correspondents asked me to release the name of a woman named to me in interviews as a possible suspect in the Stacey Burns murder case. After all, Jim Vittum’s name, along with others, has been bandied about in this blog so what’s fair is fair. Well, in my humble opinion, this would be irresponsible simply because so far the information is purely hearsay and would just add another name to the list of speculative suspects.
Here is what is not fair.
- The handling of the name of Jim Vittum in public and private by people in authority. Over seven years without any substantive charges being filed have devastated the Vittum family. If the evidence is there, make the arrest. If not, or if the case is leaning in another direction, make that knowledge public so this family might have some peace. After seven years, it is probably too late for that anyway.
- The fact that the family and friends of Stacey Burns and the community of Wolfeboro as a whole have been denied information that would as least eliminate some of the “speculative suspects” mentioned above. My interviews alone have had four women “suspects” named as possibilities. If Ed Burns is not a suspect, make that announcement. Again in my humble opinion, and I’ve mentioned this before, the silence has not done the community nor those under some cloud of suspicion any good whatsoever. Duke
Amen Duke Southard. I couldn’t have said it better myself. I respect the fact that you hold to your standards as well.
I have never, not one time been afraid that I would be charged in Stacey’s murder. This current AG’S office won’t arrest ‘real’ criminals so they sure as hell won’t arrest made up ones. The eye opener in this experience has been the lack of public interest as well as the willingness for the police to lie to protect their puppet masters. As I watch James Coomey of the FBI sell his soul to the devil for the likes of Barrock Obama and Bill Clinton I shutter to think what has happened to my fathers country. Lady justice has been transformed into little more than a road whore. This justice seeking trip I have been on is about Stacey not me.
Now 4 women added to the “persons of interest” list. More than 7 years after this murder; WOW! Sounds like a diversionary tactic to me. Careful Duke, you might be getting closer to the truth than you realize. Speaking of diversionary tactics what ever became of the duffle bag discovered near the murder scene 3 years later? I know the police came out a year later and said it wasn’t connected however either the police completely missed it during the investigation or someone planted it there after the fact. Was this police incompetence, a sick prank or something else far more sinister? Anyone know exactly what was in that bag?
The duffle bag or bag, was found next door in a garden plot by the home owner as they prepared for a garden. That was next door to Stacey’s house. This according to a town employee who owns that garden plot. The State Police were right out to cordon off the garden. They did leave with something. It was also on Chanel 9 wmur news.
