This is the 400th post on this blog since I began it a couple of years ago. A rough estimate would place more than 80% of my posts as dealing with the murder of Stacey Burns. One can’t help but wonder if I’m doing any good with these regular observations. However, since I am not aware of anything else happening (Boy, would I ever be happy to hear that something positive is happening in this case!) I will continue to post my opinions and impressions. After all, no one is forcing anyone to read them.
For today’s 400th, I will simply quote Inspector Ian Rutledge in Charles Todd’s book, A Test of Wills. “. . .because sometimes the solution to a murder was just that–finding out why the victim had to die.”
Why did Stacey Burns have to die? Perhaps the inspector is right. In one person’s mind, Stacey had to die. In simple terms, it is about motive. I leave it to you to answer the question, and maybe come up with a solution.

If you ever knew Bev, nana “B” you may have some insite into the making of a killer. And I quote “the best day of my life was the day that bas—d died” refering to her husband. If you ever knew Eddie you may have some insite into why Stacey ‘had to die’. It’s always about control. One of my first deep conversations with Eddie was him telling me “how to get my woman (jamie) back’. that was my first clue that this guy is sick. Saying “Stacey had to die” is talking his language but to me the reason Stacey ‘had to die’ was because she never excepted (she knew but couldn’t except ) that for her to ‘live’ Eddie would have had to die. Stacey just wasn’t prepared to go there, God bless her. …………….
For a long time I felt we (everyone!) should have done more. An intervention a confrontation or just a conversation. I will always believe Ed’s peeps were NOT suprised to hear of Stacey’s death. I should have confronted the little coward myself, Stacey told me from the start to NEVER confront Ed and I never did. When Ed recived his ‘papers’ on the ship and rushed home (something Stacey thought couldn’t happen) to rape, beat and regain control, even then, after a sobbing Stacey told me about it, I did nothing? Stacey did NOT have to die. Eddie does.
