Face the fact in the killing of Stacey Burns- Justice has been delayed. The major question is whether that delay means that justice will be denied.
This will be brief. The decision between justice delayed or justice denied rests with two groups: Law enforcement or those who loved Stacey enough to not quit on her memory.
Law enforcement: Have you given up on the murder of Stacey Burns? (Justice delayed, hoping something happens to give you an easy out?)
Those who loved Stacey Burns (family, friends, community): Are you willing to give up? (Justice denied)
Either way. it will be SEVEN YEARS thist May! Sadly, I don’t see much fire in the eyes of those seeking justice for this poor woman whom I never met but still feel as if I knew her.
Personal opinion?-There is no excuse for this. Someone is lacking the courage to bring a vicious, amoral, cowardly killer into the legal system. Feel free to disagree and let me know that I am completely wrong about this.
Duke
Totally agree with you, Mr Southard. I did not know Stacey either and feel the same way you do. I continue to pray for an answer to this murder.
Five years ago when folks around here heard of your “book” about this murder the question I got was “why”. Everyone at that time seemed to want to just forget about it. In fact i’m told often to forget about it and move on myself. Until this kind of thing happens to you, you can’t know what you would do. It is over for now. There is absolutely no effort going on in either the police dept or the Ag’s office. History shows that if Stacey’s killer kills again (in Ma.) N.H. will come in after he’s convicted and press charges. It’s just not worth spending the resourses and it’s definately not worth the political capitol that is lost when the true competency or incompetency of our elected officals is shown. Again; it’s not the police! it’s the Ag and the Gov. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES,
Duke, Maybe your not looking into the right set of eyes. When I look into Jim Vittums eyes regarding the murder, I see fire. I see an inferno. He has hounded the “authorities” for almost seven years now. I’m guessing they don’t care for him much as sometimes the truth hurts. They have dropped the ball big time. Jim does it because he loved Stacey. Because she deserves justice. Because her family deserves justice. Because he himself deserves justice as well as the chance to leave his kids an honorable legacy. If you want to see fire, look at Jim.
