Are there “degrees of truth?” Some have heard be speak about this before but it is a very important question, especially in the Stacey Burns murder case..
In the last month (as of today, 11/13/15) I’ve found it necessary to once again try to figure this out. When someone says, “well, there is a degree of truth in that statement,” what exactly do they mean? Doesn’t logic tell us that there must, therefore, be a degree of untruth in it as well?
Here is what I am trying to reconcile. On October 13, 2015, a comment was made in response to a post of mine titled “A Favorite Quotation.” Here is the statement. “The case has been newly classified as a cold case.” In a more recent post, this same individual quotes a NH State Police detective as saying that Stacey Burns’ murder has been “recently reclassified as a cold case.”
How do we reconcile those statements with this one from an authoritative source? “It has not been moved into the cold case category, yet.” This statement was made on November 4.
So, does each of these contain a degree of truth? It seems as though neither allow for compromise. It either is or it isn’t. It either is a priority or it isn’t. It either matters or it doesn’t.
Am I missing something here?

Tuesday, after a month of trying I talked to Sgt. Strong again. He told me that in about 30 days he would contact me about when I could come in and talk to someone. (I think it’s time for me to go over those days around the murder again.) After being blown off by him for weeks I was doubtfull that that day would come and out of frustration said “if Ed Burns called you and wanted to come in and talk would he have to wait a mounth?” I made the mistake of asking a question. Remember what I said about asking a major crimes unit detective a question about an active case? His answer to ‘would Ed have to wait’ was, “he’s waiting longer than that”. I snapped “you talked to Ed” “ya. rigrt after, ….around the same time, ….just before I talked to you”. He said “we get hundreds of tips on cases all the time, everyone has to wait. “you talked to Ed Burns within the last month and he wants to come in to the state police headquarters and talk to you?” i asked, “YUP” he said. How many degrees of truth do you think that is?
The first thing he said was true, his name really is Brian Strong and he really does work for the state police. They do get hundreds of tips and many of us have to wait, (poor old Fred Murry wll never know what happened to his daughter and Strelzin could tell him today)Other than that Bri bri’s story falls apart. Notice his first reaction was not only to challenge me but to one up me, unfortunately when I followed up with “you talked to Ed ” he forgot his first lie, then while answering with another lie he had to fix his first lie on the fly. Ed Burns, like Gary Miller,Wendal Noyce, Robert Chambers and the dude who wasted the Wilkersons don’t call police, don’t wait for call backs and above all never go to police stations. Strong is yet another fall guy, stonewaller, liar for the elected and their appointments. I feel sorry for him but he’s still a damn liar.
Police work 101, let the criminal hang himself becuase they will at some point. People with guilty consciences always seem to talk a lot. Det. Strong is a very smart detective and I’m sure even though you though you one upped him he’s the one laughing. Don’t wait the year to smell that smell just admit you killed Stacy and tell them where the murder weapon is so the family can have peace. Do the time that you deserve for being a jealous psychopath, you’ve wanted to admit it since you talked from day 1.
I would love to tell you everything Hunter, where can we meet?
You don’t need to tell me anything you need to tell Stacey’s family why you killed her first off and than confess to the state police and tell them where the murder weapon is..
