Will the killer of Stacey Burns ever don the orange prison garb and be subjected to the humiliation of his or her day in court? Based on what I have learned over the last five years (plus) I’d have to say no.
Will any of my books ever approach even that special level of 2,ooo copies in sales? I’d have to say no.
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to kid ourselves? I was sure that my efforts to write a legitimate narrative which would lead to the arrest of the cowardly, gutless killer of Stacey Burns would make a difference in that case.
I was sure that my dreams to write successful novels would come true.
The obstacles in the case of the murder of Stacey Burns seem insurmountable. Am I kidding myself that my efforts could make a difference?
The obstacles in the case of writing successful fiction also seem insurmountable. Am I kidding myself that my efforts in that direction would be successful?
I have much more confidence that my novels will be successful than I have about the police arresting the killer of Stacey Burns. Am I kidding myself?

I guess it depends on how you define success. If jail and 2000 are the only metrics, then maybe. But I think you are an amazing success. You stand tall, where others do not. You are a role model and defender of truth and justice. And you are a talented and inspiring writer who touched the hearts of us who read your books. We may be less than 2000, but you made a positive impact on us. And in both fields you were bold enough to try. I think you are only kidding yourself if you dont appreciate your accomplishments.
Totally agree with Dan! Very well said Dan. Praying for answers to this horrible situation.
You are being a realist, but I also think you are selling yourself short. For some reason you are feeling like it useless. But I have followed you for years and people all over the country are interested in this case so you say 2000 I say more, you are the one to decide sorry if I was to hard on you before.
From the first time you met detective Roland you had to have felt the rejection. From the lack of ANY input from Stacey’s family you had to have felt the rejection. From the reaction wrighter Dan Shearer had to detective Gilbert you had to feel the rejection. You didn’t stop. This case and you are joined. Deal w/it.
