A statement in the previous post needs clarification. I said that sometimes doing the right thing is enough to make a difference. I believe that statement to be true but there is an obvious opposite to it. Not doing the right thing also is enough to make a difference. It seems to me that the only thing that cannot make a difference is inaction. Doing nothing is certain to produce no results.
It has been said in many different ways that the greatest sin of all is to do nothing when confronted with evil. Can anyone dispute this? Ignoring an obvious injustice is not going to make a difference. Hoping that someone else might take some action is not going to make a difference. Bringing about a change in the status quo is not going to happen if everyone involved in a situation remains on the sidelines as spectators.
Of course, since so many of my posts have dealt with the murder of Stacey Burns, I should mention that I do not see anything happening with that case unless some people get involved who have not been up to this point. This is equally important with people who have been involved but have given up hope of anything happening.
Doing nothing will result in nothing being done. That is guaranteed.
Duke
I just don’t know WHAT to do. “They” don’t respond to insults, they can’t be intimidated and they seriously don’t care. It took me a year to get a sit down w/ Strelzin and my first question was simply “hows the case going”. Remember now this is a guy who accused me of murder on FB. His response to me was quick and to the point, “none of your business”. I was sitting with him and 6 police detectives who had also accused me of murder and not a one had a word to say to me. It’s over, he got away with it.
The saddest part for me isn’t that he got away w/it but that Stacey spent 17 years knowing that “it” was her only way out. She spent her wedding night locked in a hotel bathroom battered and fearing for her life and when she finally decided to leave,17 years later she knew he would kill her but told me several times that death would be better than having her girls grow up thinking “this” was normal behavior. It’s just very sad because we tried to do everything right and I just didn’t believe he would actually kill her. A dog, a security system, a locked door a GUN !!!! I did nothing then and am doing nothing now, Strelzin is right , this whole thing is nobodys business, just a sad,sad story.
I agree. What can we do to help?
I am sick of seeing someone mock the justice system and sitting smug thinking they won, that they got away with this and will never be caught.
Maybe if there are others that they will talk to?
Jim keep telling yourself that… Maybe someday you and others will believe it….
Duke,
I’m sorry to have to say this a nd please don’t take offense but if anyone is guilty of doing nothing, Duke we as in more than just me have encouraged you to write a book with what you have. My own point has been that a newspaper article can be forgotten a news feed or what ever this blog is can be ignored but a book that possible could be a best seller in my opinion, would not be forgotten people out of curiosity or fright and fear can be a driving force that will make people need to read and talk about and maybe come full circle for many that didn’t know it all. More than anything else make the killer afraid and that’s what’s needed to get the killer come out of her closet.
Another point of interest to me was when one of your writers on here a few weeks Ago pointed out that one of the investigators that as surprised to be a tough guy wasn’t so tough any more after his ex wife got done with him he wasn’t feeling so tough any more STANGE COMMENT just saying
