I assume that the New Hampshire State Police have a trained criminologist as part of their homicide investigation team, or, at the very least, have access to one. I wonder how this expert has viewed the murder of Stacey Burns. Would he (or she) ascribe to the debatable theory that wife or girl friend abusers who become wife or girl friend killers usually mutilate their victims? The attack is often so vicious and so unnecessarily violent that it defies even a small degree of rationality.
Do the police and autopsy reports in the Stacey Burns case show this degree of savagery? If they do, what does that mean to the investigation? If they don’t, what does that mean?
