One week from tomorrow, I’ll be in New Hampshire. “Adventures of True Crime Neophyte” will be presented at Willing Workers Hall on Route 109 in Melvin Village on Sunday afternoon. A “meet the author” session will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the new edition of A Favor Returned available as well as my other books. The program will begin at 2:00 p.m. and end by 3:00 p.m. This time frame includes a question and answer period. The program will address key questions about the process of writing Murder in a Small Town: The Tragic Death of Stacey Burns, including why I undertook the project, what I expect to gain from it, what I learned about writing true crime versus fiction, and the most disturbing issues I have at the present time. It will NOT attempt to find a resolution for the murder of Stacey Burns.
I am hoping that all those who have wondered about my motivation for writing this book or about the unexpected frustrations inherent in writing such a story will attend this program. It should answer some important questions once and for all.
My contacts which I had hoped would allow me to have a fifteen minute tour of the Burns’ house have informed me that they do not have access to the house any longer since it is in foreclosure. Anyone out there have a suggestion as to how to proceed? I really need to verify my descriptions firsthand instead of relying on others, no matter how well they knew the layout of the house.
